Les Carroz Ski Holidays
Les Carroz is located within the Grand Massif ski area and is a traditional French village popular with families. Les Carroz is also one of the closest ski resorts to Geneva so offers a quick and easy transfer.
The village nestles in a sunny position surrounded by tree lined slopes and offers a charming mix of chalet-style timber Savoyard buildings. The centre of Les Carroz offers a choice of bars, restaurants and shops and there's lots to do including ice skating and sledging.
As part of the Grand Massif, Les Carroz's ski area is linked to several other resorts, including Flaine, allowing skiers to reach high altitude slopes with great snow records and runs for all abilities.
Skiing in Les Carroz
Perched on a plateau at 1140m, Les Carroz is a traditional alpine village in the heart of the Grand Massif ski area which includes the neighbouring resorts of Flaine, Samoëns, Morillon and Sixt, giving access to approximately 265km of pistes.
With the whole of the Grand Massif - one of the five largest interconnected ski areas in the French Alps - accessible in just six minutes via the Kédeuze gondola, the resort is an excellent base for exploring the extensive terrain.
For beginners, the village's nursery slopes are protected and quiet and there are lots of gentle blues nearby to progress onto. Intermediates will enjoy the whole Grand Massif area, particularly the runs down to Les Carroz itself.
Advanced skiers or boarders will find spectacular powder bowls if they head towards Flaine or Samoëns as well as challenging black pistes. Experts can also explore the crevasses of the Flaine bowl, the narrow moguls of the Diamant Noir, or the ominous Combe de Gers basin (with a guide).
There is plenty to keep boarders happy with a large terrain park in both Flaine and Samoëns. In Les Carroz itself there are two boardercross courses and the "Oasis Cool Zone" snowpark suitable for all levels with a variety of features such as jumps, rails and boxes. Both the boardercross and snowpark areas have a video zone to film your progress and even a WiFi hotspot to allow you to share on social media.
